Signs play a critical role in a business’s success by helping that businesses communicate their presence, branding and on-premise messages. But how is that sign created? There are the different types of signs available to a business and I have over 10 years experience in signage design & technical layouts.

I have almost 16 years of design & signage experience.

I am a self taught, technical & innovative graphic designer with extensive signage and branding experience.

I have developed a high skill level designing in Corel Draw.

As a sign designer, I am a graphic design specialist who creates the visual elements of a sign, such as a billboards, window displays, or advertisements.

My duties and responsibilities in this career are to consult with art directors and other creative designers in my department to understand what kind of sign my client wants.

This may include specifications such as color scheme, appropriate brand logos, and other visual elements that fit in with the campaign or goals. I then design a layout for the clients to review. If it meets their approval, I enter it into production and ensure that I have taken care of all physical components.

I am creative, with an eye for good design and I am able to prioritize a varied workload

My experience consists of:

• Taking briefs and site survey information with other designers, sales teams and clients to create new artwork or text
• Find and edit graphics, such as photographs or illustrations
• Use scanners to turn drawings and other materials into digital images
• Import text and graphics into desktop publishing software programs
• Position artwork and text on the page layout and slicing into printable sizes for various printers
• Select formatting properties, such as text size, column width, and spacing
• Check proofs, or preliminary layouts, for errors and make/suggest corrections
• Finalize formatted documents for printing or electronic publication
• Send final files to a commercial printer or print the documents on a high-resolution printer
• Cleaning and maintenance of large format printers and vinyl cutters

I have worked on a contract basis with many clients ranging from a logistics company re-branding, to various media and advertising agencies with various design and layout work and work over flow, as well as personal brand development.
